Sinisa Zarkovic’s big numbers led the University of Hawaii to a pair of big wins over the weekend. The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honored the freshman for those feats Monday.

Zarkovic was named the league’s player of the week after he averaged 4.25 kills per set as the Warriors swept then-No. 2 Pepperdine in Honolulu.

The native of Belgrade, Serbia, pounded 15 kills with six blocks in a straight-set victory Sunday. His best work came Friday, however, as he smacked a career-high 19 kills and put the finishing touches on UH five-set victory. Zarkovic served the last four points of the match with one ace.

Zarkovic is the first UH player to receive player of the week honors since Jonas Umlauft in 2011.
